Trip to the zoo

We've moved into our new house but It's way too messy and unorganized at this time to post any pictures. Let's just say it's a work in progress.

About a week before we closed on the new house, we went to Cleveland for a couple of days and visited the Cleveland Zoo. We kept talking about the elephants to Anna. She was pumped to see them. Unfortunately, the elephant exhibit was being rebuilt and the elephants were at the Columbus zoo. We still had a great time. Since we are members of the Erie Zoo, our membership was good at the Cleveland Zoo and we didn't have to pay to get in. Here are some pictures of our visit.

Spring 09

I seem to just post like once a season these days. There's been lot's going on.

Here's Anna modeling the Open House sign. We put our house on the market, and after many, many showings and open houses it sold.

As long as all goes well, this will be our new house. We're very excited, it's a nice house in a nice neighborhood really close to school and not too far from work. So now onto packing. We don't have an official close date, but we're trying to keep the process manageable by packing one box a day each.

And I haven't posted any good Anna pics in a while. The girl is definitely two these days. She whines a lot. She says no a lot. She is very stubborn.

She's also very funny and very energetic. She's always up for anything. She got her second haircut tonight and she was so funny. She didn't speak or move the whole time. She just stared at herself in the mirror.

A's favorites these days - fruit snacks, dip (pretzels and cheese snacks) swinging (I pass three playgrounds on the way home and hear a constant whining of "swinggg"), Knuffle Bunny Too, Corduroy Bear (not my favorite), Sesame Street, B-I-N-G-O, and sand boxes. Oh and fidgeting. She the only kid in her daycare room that won't site at meal time. She takes a bit, runs around, takes another. It drives me crazy.

Here's Anna trying out my old rocking horse refurbished by grandpa.

Anna's happy place - the playground.

This was during one of those whiney bouts and the chips made her happy. I didn't let her eat the whole bag though.

And now I'm hoping the next few months on Anna's summer include some pottying!

New 'Do

Anna's been looking a little scruffy these days and we finally got around to getting her haircut. I was pretty sure she was going to be a holy terror during the big event, but she suprised and and was really good. She sat still and barely made a peep the whole cut.

I've taken a long blogging hiatus. I'll blame some of it on Kevin, because the blog links to his e-mail and he changed his password. So the few times I've actually thought about making a new post, I could not log in.

Anna's been a busy girl lately. Talking about a storm, running around like a wild woman and even going on the potty a couple of times. I'm way behind on pictures. But - a month overdue - here's a few birthday pics.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Hard to believe it's been two years since we went to the hospital on a cold and snowy night, very nervous and excited.

So far we just had minor birthday celebrations and a small party for Anna scheduled for Saturday.

Here's her cute #2 shirt I ordered from Etsy. She wasn't happy that Dad was interrupting her morning Sesame Street though.

She got a crown at daycare and a trike from Grammy and Dan - so it was a good day!

Sledding

So we've had just a little snow around here lately and really cold weather.   This means the only way to get fresh air is to bundle up and hang out in the driveway.

But Anna looks nice and warm in her snow suit.

The one advantage to having a hilly yard is that you can sled right in your own backyard.  It was fun - I haven't been on a sled in years.

Anna wasn't so sure about the sled though.  She's going through a bit of a scaredy cat stage.

So Kev thought maybe he should just send down the hill by herself.  That was the end of sledding for the day.

And I'm guessing it was the end of sledding for the rest of winter.

New Year's Walk

These pictures are getting old and I need to get them posted.  This entry is short on copy - it's just about photos.

We went for a walk New Year's Day at Asbury Woods.  It was cold and snowy, but sunny, so it was great to get some fresh air.

Anna's sporting her new hat handmade by Nicole.  It's very cute.

Then the next weekend we took a trip to the Children's Museum.
The water table was one of Anna's favorites.

Face painting was a big hit too!

More Christmas

Happy New Year everyone!

I have a few more Christmas pics to post before I move on to 2009.

Pretty Party Dress

An actual decent picture of the three of us- a real Christmas present indeed. Anna's not exactly smiling - but I'll take it.

The newest member of our family - Ginger. She wasn't a Christmas present kitty, we got her a few weeks before Christmas. Anna's a big fan of the kitty-cat and so far Ginger seems to tolerate the rather boisterous affection Anna gives her pretty well.
